Business Auto Insurance
Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach and Palm Coast, Florida
Insurance risk to a business by the company car or truck can be due to owning, renting, using, or even simply loading or unloading the vehicle. Coverage needs of this type can be handled with a Business Auto Policy (BAP).
What Is Covered?
A variety of operations, including trucking, storing, and public and private transport, fall under the protection of a BAP. Because this type of business insurance applies to so many variable, BAPs are flexible. Like many insurance policies, business auto insurance can be purchased as a separate policy or as part of a total business insurance package.
BAPs may include such components liability coverage, comprehensive coverage, collision, towing and labor costs for disabled vehicles, and loss of use/rental vehicle coverage. There could even be limited coverage for injury or damage that you cause to others while using a rented vehicle anywhere in the world.
What Doesn't It Cover?
Keep in mind your policy might not protect your company in case of situations such as any injury or damage that you expected or intended, responsibility for damage you assume under a contract, losses that should be handled by other insurance such as workers' comp, injury to an employee caused by a fellow employee, damage to property that is in your care and control, any bodily injury or property damage that occurs because of pollution, and any loss that is related to racing, demolition, or stunts.
Unfortunately, not everything may be covered by a BAP. Racing, wear and tear, freezing, mechanical or electrical breakdown, blowouts, punctures, or other road damage to tires are also excluded. Most of these exclusions are very unusual and we think you will find business auto insurance to be very beneficial insurance for your company and its vehicles.
